This yellow lab painting is called “Thomasville Yellow” because that’s the near the town where the dog was resting.He was beside the training ponds at Borderline. This guy was watching other dogs take their turns at the line as the sun was beginning to set. Yellow Labs are fun to paint because of all the varied color – especially when the light dims. So in regards to this painting, I used blues, alizarin crimson, raw sienna and other colors to get the yellow coat in the painting.
I used this painting in an advertisement for commissions and very rarely do I sell an original off an ad, but someone in Texas called and purchased it.
