Old Mission Peninsula
Old Mission Peninsula separates East and West Grand Traverse Bays above Traverse City, MI. Once dotted primarily by old family farms, it now is becoming famous for its many wineries. There’s a lot of inspiration up there to be had – and an endless supply of subjects and landscapes to turn into art. The Old Mission Apples graphite drawing that I did was a scene that was across the road from what was Old Mission Tavern and Bela Galleria.
But in October, if you want fresh cherries or apples, or a great glass of wine – anytime – it is worth it to pay a visit to this unique and beautiful place.
