Field Trial Black Lab Oil Portrait – “Gonia’s Champ”
Jim Gonia has a lot of accolades and accomplishments – just like his father. And a great guy on top of that. I loved doing this as my sponsorship of the NRC for him. Jim sent me lots of photos – some of them pretty funny of his dogs. The funny story is that a few weeks later, I got a letter and the envelope said “4th Circuit Court of Appeals.” I got very nervous thinking, “What on earth could I have done?” When I opened the letter it was a nice handwritten note from one of the judges for painting his lab – which is this one.
