Black Labrador Acrylic Painting – “Chicka”
This is a Black Labrador acrylic painting of Chicka. Her full name is 2004 NAFC-FC Chickamauga Choo Choo and she is in the Retriever Hall of Fame.
If you compete or just observe the retriever field trials, you will almost immediately become familiar with the legends of the sport. One of those legends is a Black Labrador Retriever named Lean Mac. To see his pedigree, go to huntinglabpedigree.com.
Chicka was out of Lean Mac and also an accomplished champion and legend. Her pedigree is here. She won the National Amateur Retriever Championship in 2004, and I painted this as a donation to the club to give to Mac and Lynne DuBose who owned Chicka.

I painted more than one dog for Mac and Lynn. It was always an honor to be able to paint subjects that turned out to become the legends of the sport.
