Black Lab Oil Painting – “Jaws”
While this is a Black Lab oil painting called “Jaws”, it is also just as much a wildlife/landscape. I called this “Jaws” because it reminded me of a movie poster. Someone had commissioned me to paint their labs and I had several great photos to use for other ideas. One with the lab looking up at a tossed bumper I suppose. But one day in October, I just happened to be coming out of the studio with my camera at dusk and in the rich light these geese flew overhead as if saying “Take a picture!” I got a couple quick shots off and made this painting, which was also on Ducks Unlimited t-shirts.
