“Brace Beginning” is a bird dog field trial graphite drawing and panorama of the handlers, dogs and gallery at a field trial in South Georgia. Many of these folks I know, and because I am a stickler for making people look like they are, I carefully drew each one as accurately in likeness as possible. And I like panoramas.
This simply shows of course two of the competing handlers getting their English Pointers ready for the next brace. This trial is the Georgia/Florida Field Trial Club’s annual event held at any one of the various plantations surrounding Thomasville, GA, Albany, GA and those near Tallahassee, FL.
This might be as much a landscape as a portrait or action scene. You can go to the American Field to find out all the latest news of bird dog field trials.
