I’ve known Mark Fredrickson from my days in Tucson 30-plus years ago when his work jumped off the pages of the Arizona Daily Star. His work since then has been on the covers and inside of Time Magazine, Business Week, Industry Week, Sports Illustrated, Golf Digest, The Village Voice, Mad Magazine and many many other publications.
His national awards are also numerous, and they include a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators – quite an big accomplishment among peers who are among the best in their field. Time magazine lists Mark’s cover art for the September 2008 issue of Mad Magazine as Time’s top 10 magazine covers for 2008.
His illustrations have also appeared on book covers and posters, such as for the Broadway Show, ‘Little Shop of Horrors,’ the posters for Morgan Spurlock’s movie,’Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden’ and ‘Dennis the Menace’, starring Walter Matthau.
Mark’s illustrations of Batman and Superman for the DC Comics Licensing Department are found on the packaging of toys and printed on clothing in retail stores around the world.
