One of my closest friends is the first guy I met as a new kid in a new school in 5th grade. His family has farmed near our home in Iowa for at least three generations. One day I went over to visit his dad who showed me around the old homestead. The original house and barn were getting worn, but the character was still there. In the back was an old 1938 Chase tractor. I asked Donald to sit down on the tire and let me take a few photos. My first love has always been to depict the old farm scenes. So I took other photos of the area and decided him in a panorama - to try to capture the feeling of the old Homestead - as well as my friend's dad reminiscing. This is a graphite, and debuted at Art Prize in Grand Rapids, MI.
