Meet The Artist
Chris Chantland has been painting for over 30 years and captures the personalities of sporting dogs, horses – and their owners – in oil, watercolor and graphite.
Chris is a Signature Member of the Society of Animal Artists.
As the official artist of the National Retriever Club and National Amateur Retriever Club, Chris painted every national champion retriever from 2000 – 2013. His work has appeared on the covers of Retriever Journal, Pointing Dog Journal, Ruffed Grouse Society, and other magazines.
His paintings are part of the permanent collection of the National Bird Dog Museum in Grand Junction, Tennessee, and in private collections.
Chris has been a contributor to major conservation organizations, such as the Ruffed Grouse Society and Quail Unlimited. His art is used on licensed Ducks Unlimited apparel.
Chris resides with his wife and three children near Traverse City, MI, though much of his subject matter comes from the plantations near Thomasville, Georgia, and Tallahassee, Florida.
